Kim Davis was released from jail this week after being held in contempt of court for refusing to issue same-sex marriage licenses, due to her religious beliefs.
When released, Davis stood before a cheering crowd outside of the jail thanking supporters. Along with political figure & former governor Mike Huckabee standing by her side, Davis proclaimed to the crowd, “Thank you all so much. I love you all so very much,” she said. “I just want to give God the glory. His people have rallied, and you are a strong people. We serve a living God who knows exactly where each and every one of us is at. Just keep on pressing. Don’t let down, because he is here. He’s worthy.”
This is a sensitive topic with many in today’s overly offensive society, but as Americans, Christians DO have the right to their beliefs and opinions as well as freedom of speech on what they believe, just as any of the gay marriage rights activists do as well. It all comes down to opinions. Is this country and it’s laws going to be based on the principals of the Bible and God’s laws as it’s always been or is it not? It seems, as a Nation, we are not heading that direction, nor keeping the path this country was based upon, and are going further away from “One Nation Under God”.
