As most people know, Chick-fil-A is closed on Sundays. Their openly Christian founder makes it clear to his employees that they will not work on Sundays because that is the day God designated for rest. This is disappointing to those in search of a chicken sandwich or waffle fries when that craving takes over on a Sunday, but all kidding aside, this is a noble decision to stand by and it sends a very powerful message. An even bigger message was sent this past Sunday after the tragic Orlando nightclub shooting that left nearly 50 dead. Area Chick-fil-As fired up their grills to make hundreds of chicken sandwiches and brewed gallons upon gallons of sweet tea to serve to those who were volunteering and donating blood. This is an incredible act of kindness and a great representation of God’s love!
Matthew 5:9 “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.”
Matthew 5:44-45 “But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.”
Luke 6:27-31 “But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn to them the other also. If someone takes your coat, do not withhold your shirt from them. Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back. Do to others as you would have them do to you.”
HUGE shout out to the employees of the Chick-fil-As in Orlando that opened up on Sunday and provided support! Thank you for exemplifying God’s love amidst the crisis!
